Community Guidelines
TSD Masters of Diving is a community of divers who love being underwater and want to share what they see. These guidelines explain what's expected of you, what's not allowed, and what to do if you come across something that breaks the rules.
What's encouraged
- Logging real dives. Real sightings. Real photos.
- Asking questions about species you're not sure of. Honest mistakes are part of learning.
- Celebrating other divers' finds.
- Crediting photographers and dive operators when you share content.
- Following responsible diving and wildlife guidelines: no touching, chasing, riding, feeding, or otherwise disturbing marine animals.
What's not allowed
- Obscene, hateful, harassing, threatening, or sexually explicit content.
- Impersonation, fake accounts, or fabricated sightings.
- Doxxing, harassment, or abuse of other divers.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright (photos that aren't yours, without permission).
- Spam, scams, or solicitation.
- Photos or content showing harm to marine wildlife.
Reporting content
If you see something that breaks the rules, tap the three-dot menu (or the Report link) on:
- A sighting card — in the community feed or on a species page.
- A community photo — on a species page.
- A comment — on a species discussion.
- A user's profile — tap their name from anywhere.
Pick a reason, add an optional note, and tap Submit. Our team will look at it within 24 hours.
Blocking another diver
If another diver is bothering you, you can block them. Open their profile and tap Block. Once blocked:
- Their sightings, photos, and comments disappear from your feeds and species pages immediately.
- They can no longer interact with your content.
- Our moderation team is notified so we can review their account too.
You can manage and undo blocks any time from Profile → Legal & privacy → Blocked users.
What happens after a report
- Our team reviews every report within 24 hours.
- Content that breaks these rules is removed.
- The person who reported it gets no automatic update, but the content disappearing means action was taken.
- Repeat or serious violators have their accounts disabled.
- If two or more people independently report the same item, it is auto-hidden from the community feed while we review.
Appeals
If you think your content was removed unfairly, email dive@thresherdivers.com with the details. We'll take another look.
Why this exists
TSD Masters of Diving is the dive community we want to dive with. Friendly, curious, honest about what we've seen and not seen. These guidelines are how we keep it that way.
