Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This privacy policy explains how TSD Masters ("the app", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the app, whether through our website, the Apple App Store, or the Google Play Store.

TSD Masters is operated by Philippines Dive and Travel Ltd, based in Malapascua, Cebu, Philippines.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, the display name you choose, your sign-in method (email, Apple ID, or Google), and the date you joined.

Content you create. Dive sightings you log (species, dive site, date, personal notes), photos you upload, comments, and your progress data (points, stamps, levels).

Photos you ask the app to identify. When you use "Identify a creature", the photo you choose is sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) so that it can suggest what the animal is. TSD keeps the photo, the suggestions and the answer you confirm, and uses them to improve identification in the app. Please do not use this feature for photos of people. These photos are deleted with your account.

Technical information. Device type and operating system, app version, basic usage data (which features you use, error logs), and IP address (used for security and approximate location).

What we do NOT collect. We do not collect your precise GPS location, payment information (the app is free), your contacts, your calendar, health or biometric data, or data from other apps on your device.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate the app and your account.
• Save and display your sightings, photos, and progress.
• Show your contributions to the diving community within the app.
• Improve the app, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
• Communicate with you about your account or important changes.

We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing.

4. What other users can see

TSD Masters has a community layer. When you choose to share a sighting, photo, or comment publicly, other users of the app can see:

• Your display name.
• The species, dive site, and date of the sighting.
• Any photo you uploaded.
• Any notes you marked as public.

You control what is public and what is private. Personal notes and unshared sightings are visible only to you.

5. Who we share information with

Service providers we use to run the app:

• Supabase — stores your account and content (database hosting).
• Cloudflare — delivers the app to your device (web hosting).
• Apple and Google — if you sign in with Apple or Google, they handle authentication.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store — if you installed the app from a store, they receive standard install and usage data per their own policies.

These providers are bound by contract to protect your data and may only use it to provide their services to us.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, by court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Business transfer. If the app or business is sold or acquired, your data may transfer to the new owner under the same privacy commitments described here.

6. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on Supabase servers, which may be located in the United States, the European Union, or other regions. By using the app, you consent to your information being transferred and processed across borders, subject to the protections in this policy.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

8. Your rights

You can:

• Access your data at any time inside the app.
• Correct your profile and content.
• Delete your account and all associated data from within the app settings (this is required by Apple and is built into the app).
• Export your data — email us at dive@thresherdivers.com and we will send you a copy within 30 days.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA, including the right to object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

TSD Masters is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously and act quickly if we learn of a problem.

11. Cookies and tracking

The web version of the app uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your settings. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you inside the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document shows when it last changed.
